Bicycling Safety - Part 2

This course is given in 2 parts: 3 hrs on Tuesday evening and 3 hrs on Saturday afternoon.  This is a hands-on, active participation cycling class with the majority of instruction outside both days, so bring your bike and helmet both days.  

Once you have mastered basic handling skills, the next step in riding a bike safely is to learn how to avoid common road hazards with ease. 

In this class participants will learn about and practice the following skills in the safety of a closed parking lot:

  • Proper helmet fit
  • The ABC Quick Check for a safe ride
  • Quick Stop
  • Rock Dodge
  • Avoidance Weave
  • Quick Turn

Additionally participants will learn about recommended tools, accessories and equipment to carry with them when riding to keep the rider safe and prepared.

RBC members will be reimbursed the registration fee after successful completion of the course.
